Child Protection Statement

Grips Gymnastics is committed to the safety and well-being of children and young people and as such, is committed to creating and maintaining a child safe environment with zero tolerance for child abuse.

Our commitment to the safety of children is based on our duty of care and responsibilities to children and young people and always acting in their best interest.
We will ensure all staff and volunteers who work with children have a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and that there is an appropriate screening process for staff and volunteers that work with children including interview guides, advertisements and selection criteria which clearly demonstrate our commitment to child safety.

Grips Gymnastics have appointed two Child Safety Champions who are available to support staff with any child safety concerns and to safely disclose risks of harm to children and young people.

All allegations and safety concerns are treated seriously and consistently with our robust policies and procedures.

Each person associated with Grips Gymnastics has a responsibility to ensure child safety and wellbeing is at the forefront of all work procedures. It is important each person understands his or her individual and collective role towards these commitments.

Grips employees will at all times listen to children and young people and advocate for their right to feel safe, valued and protected.
